In more good news for Solar in Texas in 2021, one of the largest energy providers in the state has just released their 2021 program manual for residential and commercial solar, and it looks very promising! Oncor, which serves mostly Dallas/Fort Worth and the surrounding areas, has allocated over 3 million dollars for their residential and commercial solar incentive budgets (check out page 5 of their SPVSOP Program Manual, here – https://eepm.oncor.com/Documents/SVSOP%20Program%20Manual.pdf):
- Residential Solar Photovoltaic Program Option- $1,163,950
- Commercial Solar Photovoltaic Program Option -$2,038,440
To account for the variation to the actual incentive amount for home owners and business owners, Oncor has created a solar rebate calculator to allow you to estimate what your savings might be. According to Solar Business Hub, homeowners may request up to an $8,500 rebate off of their total system cost – one of the highest solar rebates in Texas – check out the article here: https://solarbusinesshub.com/latest-solar-industry-press-releases/?rkey=20210203PH67733&filter=2814.
We hope to see more energy companies follow Oncor’s lead to increase their total solar incentive budgets, as well as the amount each solar project owner is able to request. If you have any questions about the Oncor solar rebate (or other local rebates), please give us a call today and we’ll walk you through exactly what this could mean for your project.
